Claire Masswohl is currently the Executive Director of the Multicultural Network of Niagara Falls and the Welland Heritage Council and Multicultural Centre. With over 14 years experience in pro diversity work she combines knowledge of immigration and festivals to create an educational forum that will bring the community together with newcomers to Canada to teach each other about our cultures. She has facilitated many workshops over the years and organized conferences on the topic of integrating newcomers into the community and workplace. Her work on social justice issues resulted in the development of an Ontario wide coalition to assist International Medical Graduates gain improved access to their professions in Canada. Claire was the founding director of the Canadian Association of Festivals and Events, and has over 40 years of volunteer service with a variety of organizations. She was the founding Chair of the Niagara Newcomer Service Alliance bringing all the partners who delivered services to newcomers to Niagara together to share resources and programs. Claire is serving her sixth year on the Board of the Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants (OCASI) where she currently works with the policy development committee on immigration issues. In her varied careers she has traveled to many countries around the world working with governments on environmental issues. |
