Mr. Kathiresan is the Chief Operating Officer for the Niagara Health System. With over-all responsibility for operations of the Niagara Health System, Bala also has direct responsibility for Information and Communications Technology and Support Services. Before assuming the role of Chief Operating Officers he held the role of Integrated Vice President and Chief Information Officer for the Hospitals of Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant Local Health Integrated Network and eHealth Lead for the Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant LHIN where he was instrumental in the development of the eHealth Strategic Plan for the LHIN.

Bala holds a Bachelors degree in Commerce and Masters in Business Administration. Prior to joining NHS, Bala was Vice President of Healthtech Inc. His career as a consultant provided him the opportunity to work with a number of health care agencies across the country varying from small community hospitals to large teaching hospitals and community health agencies.
